I came across an interesting blog post entitled “What Happened With Our Priorities And The Simplicity Of Life?”
It’s from a fellow named Mika Kaltoft from his old blog “TheAmbassadorsPitstop.com” posted on July 26, 2012 (Wow! That’s almost ten years ago)!
The point was an excellent reminder from my younger self to keep my priorities in check.
…And maybe this 22 year old fellow has something to share with you as well:
“What happened with our priorities and the simplicity of life? Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest are great online networks. However, they steal many precious hours of our life every day. In fact, do you remember what you did with your time before these features became available?
I remember what I did; I spent most of my spare time reading the Bible or socializing with people talking about life and eternity. Yet today, I find myself wasting irreplaceable time stocking people (Yes! Everyone is stocking on Facebook–just admit it) because I don’t want to miss out on…. yes, on… on what? Nothing! Pathetic! I want to get back to the simplicity of life and most of all; spend more time studying the Word of God than studying the nose hair of my Facebook friends and spend more time socializing with my family, believers, and non-believers than with my computer screen.
Finally, no, my statement above doesn’t mean that I’m abandoning social networks altogether, but it does indicate that I will reconsider my priorities in life so that I might glorify God the most with every precious moment that He has given me on this earth.”
