Evangelism Tip #4: Use Breath Mints

< 1 Min Read | | December 26, 2019

Allen Atzbi humorous said, “It’s hard to hear the words of life through the breath of death.”

Think of the last time you talked with someone with a really bad breath. Do you honestly remember what the conversation was about? Most likely not.

Teacher with Deadly Breath

When I was a kid, I had a teacher with horrible breath. She was both a smoker and coffee drinker so you can imagine the sum of the deadly aroma. My teacher would stand close to me when helping with different projects. Don’t get me wrong. I liked her. She was a sweet lady! But I remember holding my hand in front of my mouth to avoid sudden death. It was so bad that my stomach was turning in every possible direction.

After a while, she must have noticed my hand for one day. She asked me directly if she had bad breath. I gasped and told her the truth. From that day on, she used breath mints, and the learning experience became joyful instead of suffocating.

Bottom Line

I think the point of the story speaks for itself–Use breath mints when sharing the gospel, it could save a life (literally).
